Down The TBR Hole | Round 6

Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by Lost In A Story in which you attempt to reduce your Goodreads TBR. It basically involves organising your Goodreads 'Want To Read' shelf by date from oldest to newest, looking at the first 5-10 books and decided whether you're still interested or not.

This is a book that was recommended by one of my psychology tutors at university, as it is a non-fiction account of various individuals with neurological disorders. I am always interested in reading medical non-fiction, it's kind of my strange quirk, so I'm not sure why I haven't read this already.

Five Summers by Una LaMarche

This sounds like a typical summery contemporary following five friends who return to the summer camp they went to as children and have to deal with boy drama and secrets. I would probably have got rid of this any other time but I am totally in the mood for a book like this right now and I love summer camp stories.

Another book that I am definitely in the mood for just now. This is about a girl whose mother has recently died so her and her father take a roadtrip to visit her grandmother in a small beach town. I love small beach towns as a setting and this sounds like another, less fluffy, summer contemporary.

I had no idea what this was when I saw it on my Goodreads 'to-read' list but once I saw that it was set over Christmas, I understood why it was there. This follows a miserable family over Christmas and New Year as they find out about an unexpected gift. This does sounds like it could be a good story but I don't see myself every getting to it, to be honest.

Judgement: Go

I was really interested in this book when I first read the synopsis. It is about a girl whose mother is struggling with mental illness, and thinks she is Amelia Earhart, and her attempts to navigate high school while dealing with her difficult life at home. As much as this sounds like it could be a really great read, I'm not sure I'm really interested in it anymore.

Judgement: Go

For a while there I was worried I wouldn't be getting rid of any books from my TBR this time around. Another two books off isn't too bad, I'm getting there slowly.

Have you read any of the books mentioned? Have I made any big mistakes?

Sophie :)
